Charles Taylor Interview with PPC

Charles Taylor" PP Alum

PPC: What is your main occupation these days?
CT: I am currently a designer. I started my own showroom/retail space in San Diego called mixture about 6 years ago. I recently sold my partnership in that to move back to Dallas and be closer to family. I am in the process of opening up a new space in the Dallas Design District.

PPC: So you think your time with Page Parkes helped prepare you for your career? If yes, how so?
CT: Obviously, all of the traveling really opened my eyes to all of the possibilities for architecture and design back here in The States. Exposure to different cultures, working for yourself and being self-reliant , languages, cuisine, music, world-wide contacts...so many things could be counted in the preparation category. I know I would be a slightly different person had I not left Texas.

PPC: Do you have a favorite person/experience that you met/had through the Page Parkes Corporation?
CT: I really enjoyed my first trip to Paris when I was about 19 or 20 years old. I had never really been out of Texas and here I was, by myself, with a map of Paris, trying to find my way around that city. I lived by myself for the first few weeks and I just had to go out there and figure it all out. It was a bit scary to try and make friends, learn to communicate with the French without pissing them off ;), etc. But the sense of autonomy I got from being there (when most of my friends were at college) and working, supporting myself and seeing the city and all of its history, really changed the course of my life.

PPC: Where was the coolest place you have traveled?
CT: I have always loved Greece, I would live there in a heartbeat...Egypt was pretty amazing too! It's all fantastic.

John Paul Tran PP Alum

I am a Fashion Photographer as well as a Fashion Beauty Art Director for the fragrance/beauty/retail industry. Page Parkes helped me develop my own perspective on the idea of beauty and afforded me the opportunity to work with amazing talent. It's an industry where we set a standard and tell the world what that standard is. It's all about self belief. I think everyday at Page Parkes was an experience I will treasure. All the different people that I got to work with and become friends with will stay with me forever. I love South Africa. It's so beautiful and when I'm casting for tv commercials there the talent is so unbelievably amazing!

Amy Wells, PP Alum Interview with PPC

AW: I am currently a sales rep for John Hardy

PPC: So you think your time with Page Parkes helped prepare you for your career?
AW: Yes!

PPC: How so?
AW: Page Parkes taught me to be able to sell myself and a brand. The PPC taught me to play the part and look the part and be a strong and beautiful woman inside and out.

PPC: Do you have a favorite person/experience that you met/had through the Page Parkes Corporation?
AW: Page. She taught me that I will always sell myself better than any picture.

PPC: Where was the coolest place you have traveled?
AW: South Africa. For a girl from Louisiana, it was like traveling to another world. It was something I will never forget.

An Interview with Page Parkes Alum: Phil Valentine

PPC: What is your main occupation these days?
PV: I am a Filmmaker

PPC: So you think your time with Page Parkes helped prepare you for your career?
PV: Absolutely.

PPC: How So?:
PV: If Page hadn't helped me begin to make a living as an actor, I would not have thought it to be possible and I'd be doing something... normal now!

PPC: Do you have a favorite person/experience that you met/had through the Page Parkes Corporation?
PV: Shannon Owens Adams Fergason. She has made sure to stay in contact through the years and help keep me involved with Page Parkes.

PPC: Where was the coolest place you have traveled?
PV: Puerto Rico. Awesome place!

Angelique Gioldasis: Page Parkes Alum

I still model and do a also a bit of designing. Do I think Page Parkes has helped me with my career? Absolutely! No doubt! My favorite people that I've met through Page Parkes were Page (of course) and Yolanda. Through modeling, my favorite place that I've traveled would be Australia. I love Australia!

Randall Oliver: Page Parkes Alum

I consider my main occupation to be ACTOR. Then to eat every day I am a union Ironworker and I have worked the nuclear industry for 10 years now. Currently just finishing the removal and replacement of a new reactor head at Palo Verde in AZ. I film another feature in early December in NM.

I have met so many wonderful people through PPC. It's so great to be in touch with all of you after so many years. There's Page, Phil Valentine, Bambi Lynn, Rachel, Lana, Kim Harris, Paige Larson, Lenny M. The list goes on. I reconnected with most during the Agents Review and had a blast! The coolest place I've traveled is Africa.

Amy Mueller: Page Parkes Alum

My main occupation is modeling. Additional side careers are real estate and creating and developing a gourmet cookie and milk delivery business, That's Sweet, here in Dallas.

I know my time with Page Parkes helped me prepare for my various careers. I am very thankful! It taught me to be a self-starter and to always put my best foot forward. As a model you are the product! At an early age I learned to deal with one of the hardest things we all deal with in life, rejection. As a 14 year old girl you don't understand why you are not always liked and picked for everything. It taught me to have a tough skin in the best way possible, while maintaining my feminine softness. To model for years, and to work in the residential and commercial real estate world, as well as having developed a successful business, I had to have a tough skin. It also, taught me to go for whatever I wanted to go for! The worst that could happen is you get a no! You'll surprise yourself if you just try!

I love the agency that I started with-Christopher was answering phones, Margarite was working print, and Peggy was booking runway. Those were the days! And OF COURSE PAGE! Through the agency I met some amazing people. I have to say my favorite was Joan Wilson from Neiman Marcus. She was tough, but her thoroughness and high expectations taught me so much. I would spend hours (if it wasn't hours, it sure seemed like it) walking the hall outside of her office to perfect a runway walk. I would also watch hours of footage from runway shows around the world. We didn't have the handy, dandy internet at that time! She was awesome. She intimidates me to this day! She's very talented, and I am thankful to her for teaching me so much.

I have several favorite places my job has taken me...a vineyard in Oregon (smashing grapes in a big oak barrel like Lucy), to the big island of Hawaii (learning how to hula dance), to wonderful places in Mexico. I have seen the United States, as well as the world. I lived in Barcelona, Spain for a time. Not only have I gotten to go to great places, I have also learned about other cultures along the way.
