Friends of Child Advocates packed the ballroom of the Westin Galleria Hotel on Wednesday with more than 600 women and a sprinkling of men, who turned out in force for the annual Angels of Hope luncheon.

Chaired by Pat Osborne and Kathy Galt, the event honored Janice McNair. She was recognized for her support of Child Advocates and for a lifetime of philanthropy, a legacy of giving for which she and husband, Bob McNair, Houston Texans owner, are widely applauded.

Also applauded on this day was the extensive fashion presentation of spring and resort wear from Lafayette 148. Designer Edward Wilkerson was in the house winning the admiration of women who have embraced the line that is both stylish without being wicked and reasonably priced compared to big-name designer labels.

Turning out in support of the organization that fights child abuse were Rose Cullen, Jana Arnoldy, Ellie Sweeney, Nancy Thorington, Lisa O'Leary, Kim Sterling, Judy Allen, Ann Short, Ed Smith, Claudia Hatcher, Nancy and Ted Reynolds, Katie Cullen and Kay Onstead.

Momentum Audi's Jared Lang joined Page Parkes' Page Parkes-Eveleth in hosting a table of youngsters in the Child Advocates program. Child Advocates CEO Sonya Galvan saluted them and luncheon patrons.
