Meet Paulyna

We snagged a quick interview with recent Model Camper, Paulyna Odelein and grabbed some thoughts from her mother, Andrea Scott as well!
Paulyna attended a Page Parkes Model Camp this summer and was signed as a model to Page713 after completion of her training. Read below to hear their thoughts!

When did you decide that modeling was something you wanted to pursue?
Well, I think every girl wants to be a model.  I have wanted to be a model ever since I was little. I started to take it seriously when I was on vacation in Mexico last spring. A photographer set up a little family shoot on the beach for us. It was pretty casual, but I was hooked!

What/who insprired you to go to model camp?
My picture was submitted online. A family friend suggested that I send in a picture just to see what would happen.  I was really happy to get an email back.  I was excited to meet with Toni Smith. When she offered me a chance to attend Model Camp in Houston.... I was so excited! I could hardly wait!!

What made you most nervous?
Oh my gosh...nervous! I was so nervous!! I didn't know what to expect. It was a new world.  There were a lot of girls and I was nervous about not knowing anything about make up or runway or ever what to do in front of the camera!

What makes you most excited?
I really liked learning what it will take to be a model.  I was excited during the photo shoot and I felt pretty comfortable with it.  I learned so much that weekend.

How has attending model camp changed your life?
It has given me unbelievable confidence.  I feel so much better about myself.  I know how to wear make-up and I can do it myself. I know what my shape looks good in and I can walk in heels! I came out of camp a new person. It sounds weird, but it is true!

Should this become a career for you, what designer would you most like to model for?
I really hope it does! I know the competition can be really fierce! I like classic, clean lines with an edgy feel. I think it would be fun to do high end fashion such as Dior or Halston maybe, but I know that I have a lot of work ahead of me! I am excited to start the process and look forward to many years under Page Parkes wing!!

From a parent's perspective:
"We received her portfolio...it is awesome to see the benefits of the work that Paulyna put forth in Model Camp. Model Camp was absolutely a fantastic way to build self confidence, poise and a sense of reponsibility. Thanks again!" -Andrea Scott
