Page Parkes in Houston Legends!

We are so excited to see Page Parkes in Hank Moore's new book Houston Legends ! Page Parkes has paved the way for modeling and talent in Texas for the past 30 years. To read more about famous Houston faces, check out the book online here!

2015 Oscars

Award season is one of our favorite times of the year here at Page Parkes. It is the realization of so many actors’ dreams, the dreams we strive to assist our talent in achieving. The Oscars are the pinnacle of award season, and we were on the edge of our seats for the entire show. From the show-stopping gowns to the incredible musical performances, the dapper gentlemen to the tear-jerking acceptance speeches, this year was certainly one for the record books!

We even recognized a couple of familiar faces from Page Parkes, including Channing Tatum looking stunning with his wife Jenna, and Jaime King, who has the cutest accessory...a baby bump!

One of our favorite things, when it comes to the Oscars, is the red-carpet looks. This year, the actresses made some truly magical choices, and astounded us with their gowns. We noticed that certain trends emerged this season, including but not limited to, a bevy of white, red, and nude gowns.

White gowns are now no longer just for weddings, as proven by these gorgeous actresses, who dazzled the nation in classic, white frocks! While each gown was white, they all comprised unique details that helped take these dresses to the next level. From thousands of pearls, to contrasting black detailing, we certainly will not be forgetting these looks any time soon!

Lupita Nyong in Calvin Klein, Reese Witherspoon in Tom Ford, Marion Cotillard in Dior, and Julianne Moore in Custom Chanel.

White was not the only color trend we saw this award season. These beauties demonstrated the correct way to work a red gown, and on the red carpet no less, which is never easy! From strapless to one shoulder, thigh-high slits to sheer paneling, these leading ladies looked flawless in their figure-flattering ensembles.

Giuliana Rancic in Mireille Dagher, Dakota Johnson in Saint Laurent, Rosamund Pike in Givenchy, Behati Prinslee in Armani.

Certainly not to be forgotten are the sleek, nude gowns pictured below, which accented these celebrities’ skin tones perfectly. While each gown is incredibly unique, they all shared in flawlessly accentuating these actresses’ waists. The various style lines, textures, and necklines helped propel these muted gowns to the next level, and they certainly succeeded in wowing us!

Zoe Saldana in Versace, Kerry Washington in Miu Miu, Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab, Jennifer Aniston in Versace, and Oprah Winfrey in Vera Wang.

Lastly, but certainly not least, congratulations are in order to the actors, actresses, screenwriters, and all of the teams that put so much effort, time, and love into the films that were nominated this year. These movies were certainly works of art, which inspired, and motivated thousands of individuals.

Congratulations to Eddie Redmayne on winning Best Actor for his role in The Theory of Everything. His portrayal of Stephen Hawking was truly exceptional, inspiring, and an honor due to such an incredible man.

Congratulations to Julianne Moore; she certainly deserved her Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress for her role in Still Alice. Julianne's performance in this film was authentic, inspirational, and eye-opening to the vicious disease of Alzheimer’s.

Finally, congratulations to the entire team of Birdman, which was not only nominated for nine Oscars, but succeeded in winning a staggering four awards, including Best Motion Picture of the Year!

See you on the Red Carpet again next year!

#ModelMonday: Mother Daughter Duo Charlotte & Alice Stevens

Our model Charlotte Stevens has taken over our #ModelMonday before, but this time we get a chance to meet one of her biggest supporters: her mother Alice!

When it comes to modeling, Charlotte knows the industry is a tough one filled with plenty of challenges, but also rewarding outcomes if you choose to work hard. What better person to help guide her through her career than a family member who is no stranger to the fashion industry? Check out their recent interview below to get a glimpse of this mother/daughter duo!

Charlotte: Because your mother has modeled, do you feel she has helped guide you through this journey? Also, what tips has she taught you? It must be so cool having a mom that knows the ins and outs of the modeling industry!

Yes, without my mom who knows where I would be! She has taught me so much. She always tweaks my walk, works on finding the best angles in a picture for me, helps me present myself in front of clients correctly, and most of all, I have a KILLER shoe bag. She knows what is needed and always finds great deals! Having a mom who was in the industry helps because she understands what I am going through and I love having someone to talk to.

Alice: How were you scouted and what was it like modeling for Page Parkes when she first started?
Oh, it's the classic story - I was shopping at Sakowitz and Page walked up and asked me if I was ever interested in modeling? (I was literally looking around to see who she was talking to- haha!!) I told her it sounded like fun, she took it from there, and the rest is history! Page is SO dynamic; she was literally building this business by herself, putting in countless hours and was dedicated from the start to produce an agency that was well respected not only here, but worldwide. We all worked very hard, but also had so much fun together. Page even visited me in London!!

Charlotte: Since our last interview, how do you believe you have grown as a model? What do you believe was your biggest achievement last year?

Well, thanks to the agency, they have brought me along perfectly and I am so much more confident in all aspects of modeling. Walking for Fashion Houston and Dallas was amazing, and working for Teen Vogue and J.C. Penney was a blast. By far the best experience was walking in NYFW! Nothing can describe the feeling I had during the show, and hopefully, I will be in New York more often!

Alice: How has modeling changed since you modeled with Page Parkes?
Technology!!!! It has changed SO much! We actually used film and couldn't see the shots until the proofs were developed in a darkroom. "Digitals" were actually taken with a Polaroid camera and there weren't any online bookings because the Internet didn't exist. Cell phones weren't around so you had to have an answering machine for all of your details. Everything was done in person or your comp card was mailed out in a package. Yes, it was the dark ages, but somehow it all worked out just fine!

Charlotte: What are your goals for this upcoming year?!
My goals for this upcoming year are to get signed with an agency and travel internationally. I hope to walk in more Fashion Weeks and live abroad to experience the different fashion markets. I am SO excited to see what the future holds and I am very confident I can achieve these goals thanks to Page Parkes.

Alice: From a mother's perspective, can you give advice to young girls wanting to model out there without the support of their parents?
I would say to them that Page Parkes is like a family and you can totally trust the judgement and guidance from Page and her team as they will always have your best interest in mind and will decide the right path for YOU.

Thanks so much Charlotte and Alice for your time! We cannot wait to see what 2015 has in store for our gorgeous girl and we love knowing that no matter what the new year brings, she will always have her mother as her biggest supporter!

Madeline McDonald Goes to L.A.!

Our talented star Madeline McDonald recently traveled to Los Angeles with her agent Stefanie and Page Parkes! We are so excited to hear that Madeline was confirmed for the lead role as Carley in the upcoming film Oildale! Her role in Oildale is about a 19-year-old breakout country singer, which basically describes Madeline's own journey and life right now! She has produced her first album in Nashville and is quickly rising to the top.

During the trip, Page Parkes and Madeline attended dinner with Seymour Stein (President of SIRUS Records and VP of Warner Bros) and her music producer Mark Potter! We definitely see big plans in Madeline's future and cannot wait to see where life takes her!
