Award season is one
of our favorite times of the year here at Page Parkes. It is the realization of
so many actors’ dreams, the dreams we strive to assist
our talent in achieving. The Oscars are the pinnacle of award season, and we
were on the edge of our seats for the entire show. From the show-stopping gowns
to the incredible musical performances, the dapper gentlemen to the
tear-jerking acceptance speeches, this year was certainly one for the record books!
We even recognized a
couple of familiar faces from Page Parkes, including Channing Tatum looking stunning
with his wife Jenna, and Jaime King, who has the cutest accessory...a baby
bump!
One
of our favorite things, when it comes to the Oscars, is the red-carpet looks.
This year, the actresses made some truly magical choices, and astounded us with
their gowns. We noticed that certain trends emerged this season, including but
not limited to, a bevy of white, red, and nude gowns.
White gowns are now
no longer just for weddings, as proven by these gorgeous actresses, who dazzled
the nation in classic, white frocks! While each gown was white, they all
comprised unique details that helped take these dresses to the next level. From
thousands of pearls, to contrasting black detailing, we certainly will not be
forgetting these looks any time soon!
Lupita Nyong in Calvin Klein, Reese Witherspoon in Tom Ford, Marion Cotillard in Dior, and Julianne Moore in Custom Chanel.
White was not the only color trend we saw this award season. These
beauties demonstrated the correct way to work a red gown, and on the red carpet
no less, which is never easy! From strapless to one shoulder, thigh-high slits
to sheer paneling, these leading ladies looked flawless in their figure-flattering
ensembles.
Giuliana Rancic in Mireille Dagher, Dakota Johnson in Saint Laurent, Rosamund Pike in Givenchy, Behati Prinslee in Armani.
Certainly
not to be forgotten are the sleek, nude gowns pictured below, which accented
these celebrities’ skin tones perfectly. While each gown is incredibly unique,
they all shared in flawlessly accentuating these actresses’ waists. The various
style lines, textures, and necklines helped propel these muted gowns to the
next level, and they certainly succeeded in wowing us!
Zoe Saldana in Versace, Kerry Washington in Miu Miu, Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab, Jennifer Aniston in Versace, and Oprah Winfrey in Vera Wang.
Lastly,
but certainly not least, congratulations are in order to the actors, actresses,
screenwriters, and all of the teams that put so much effort, time, and love
into the films that were nominated this year. These movies were certainly works
of art, which inspired, and motivated thousands of individuals.
Congratulations
to Eddie Redmayne on winning Best Actor for his role in The Theory of Everything. His portrayal of Stephen Hawking was
truly exceptional, inspiring, and an honor due to such an incredible man.
Congratulations
to Julianne Moore; she certainly deserved her Oscar for Best Performance by an
Actress for her role in Still Alice.
Julianne's performance in this film was authentic, inspirational, and eye-opening
to the vicious disease of Alzheimer’s.
Finally,
congratulations to the entire team of Birdman, which was not only nominated for
nine Oscars, but succeeded in winning a staggering four awards, including Best
Motion Picture of the Year!
.
See you on the Red Carpet again next year!
