Teen M-Powerment

It is hard to be a teen these days...there is more pressure on teenagers than there has ever been. This is why Page Parkes has teamed up with acting coach, entrepreneur, and film director, Price Hall to bring you the Teen M-Powerment Workshop this August!!

We had the chance to talk a little bit with Mr. Hall about what can be expected from this great workshop! See our interview with Price below!

What was the personal inspiration behind the M-Powerment program?
As I have seen and experienced through my coaching of actors and my own experience of carving out a Life that certainly would not be considered a Normal / Traditional approach, I am very clear that it is a great challenge to follow your own heart and inner voice, without succumbing to the demands of the world or those who believe they know best, what you should be doing with your Life.  I believe we all enter this world with our very own purpose, but most humans are never really encouraged to discover it and pursue it.  This Workshop Series is meant as an early Wake Up call to young humans who are still aware of their inner calling, but need a bit of encouragement, a bit of insight from someone who has already tread the path, a beacon to fix onto to realize their own special purpose in Life.  And to launch them in that direction.

Why should teens sign up for this workshop?
They should sign up to get connected to their inner voice, their souls, and to find encouragement and real world direction from people who have already been down that road, as to how to turn their dreams into reality.

Specifically directed to the parents, why should they sign their kids up for this workshop?
Very simply, to provide their children with direct access to creating and living a Life of satisfaction, driven by true passion and purpose, by getting in direct communication with their own Inner Voice.

You are a recognized expert in your field; what is a little tidbit of advice that the attendees of this workshop can expect to hear?
The Key to living a truly satisfying Life is to be Present as much of the time as you possibly can, present to your own inner voice, and trusting it above and beyond all others.  You won't be right 100% of the time, but you will be the Creator of your Life completely.  And at the end of the day, that is what really counts.

Make sure to sign up today...Spots are filling up quickly!

The Lee Girls

We love to brag about our talented models and actors, and we love sharing their inspiring stories! Let us introduce you to Angelina and Ariana Lee, two of our very talented young actresses and models! Angelina, at 12 years old, is the older of the two sisters, incredibly creative, and aspires to one day be a designer. Ariana is 10 years old, and hopes to be an author. After their parents had been told numerous times that they should get the girls involved in modeling and acting, their mom got in touch with Page, who insisted on meeting both of the girls herself.

Soon after, both Angelina and Ariana began attending Page Parkes acting classes where they started working to obtain the proper training to help them succeed in the industry. We spoke with their parents who said “Commercial success requires training and preparation.  If you/your children want to seriously pursue modeling or acting, you should articulate your goals, share them with professionals, and work together to develop a plan.” We also asked them what advice they would offer other parents looking to get their children involved in the industry, and they responded, “Start because of the experience and the opportunity for your child to gain confidence in presenting herself.” When asked what their experience had been as parents helping to guide their children in such an unknown industry, Mr. Lee said, “We've been coming to an understanding of what's involved in modeling and acting, beyond what's seen on television or on glossy pages. You need schedule flexibility, as there is short notice for auditions and for photo shoots.”

We asked the girls what were their favorite jobs they have booked so far. Ariana loved the Chuck E. Cheese commercial she was featured in (watch by clicking HERE), and the time she got to walk for David Peck’s Spring 2014 fashion show. Angelina loved modeling for Academy!

Angelina and Ariana are not only successful and talented young models and actors, but they are both bilingual and are accomplished dancers, having performed with the Houston Ballet Academy for six and seven years, respectively! Be sure to click the photo below to watch Angelina's performance at the 2015 USA Showstopper where she placed first in her category!

Amazingly, there’s more…both girls are also highly-skilled fencers, having qualified to attend Nationals this July!! Check out these photos of them…wow, we wouldn't want to mess with these ladies!

The Page Parkes Corporation is made up of an incredibly-diverse group of talented boys and girls; the skills they learn while training to model and act affect the way they pursue other passions in life. We are so proud of these two young ladies, and how ardently they pursue their many interests

Becky Hollands for Workshop Houston

Many years ago, on a flight out of Texas, a little girl sat on a plane next to a petite blonde and shared her dreams of becoming a fashion designer. Today, that little girl, Becky Hollands, has grown into a beautiful young woman and still tells the petite blonde, Page Parkes, about her dreams. Ms. Parkes is known for her ability to spot talent, whether on a plane, in a queue at Starbucks, or at her childrens’ school. Using her extensive network, she then facilitates connections with individuals who have the ability to help advance that talent. This leads us to the story of Becky Hollands and the inspiring program of Workshop Houston.

Page Parkes and Becky Hollands

Workshop Houston is an after-school program whose mission is "To provide youth with creative, technical, and educational resources" The program is broken up into "shops" that specialize in teaching the students unique and useful skills. There are the Scholarship Shop, Chopper Shop, Beat Shop, and Style Shop!

The Style Shop is where our Becky comes back into the story! Becky attended Texas Tech University, majoring in Apparel Design and Manufacturing, and is currently the Creative Director and Designer of the Becky Hollands Label; you can check out her collection here. However, she always kept in touch with Page, who put in a call and lined Ms. Hollands up with an interview with Workshop Houston, where she is now the Style Shop coordinator! Becky works long hours to not only grow her own brand, but pass on the skills she has learned to the young designers who are eager to create their own pieces.

Page, and Becky with her students.

Workshop Houston has become so successful it has now outgrown its facility!
We at Page Parkes were honored to attend their ground-breaking ceremony, and see the plans for their next step.

You can donate to the cause by clicking here and help out the lovely Becky and the other team members of Workshop Houston build their new facilities, enhancing their ability to reach more young people who are eager to learn and change their futures.

The entire event was incredibly inspiring; the turnout from the community and the excitement from the students were overwhelming.
Page even had a chance to speak to some of the kids and learn how Workshop Houston is changing their lives.

The two girls featured above even performed an original rap, which they had written during their classes in the Beat Shop.
The group was extremely talented, and the entire crowd was swaying to their performances!

Christopher Knapp, Becky Hollands, Page Parkes, and Elizabeth Jones.

Big things are ahead for both Becky and Workshop Houston! We were supremely honored that Becky invited us to attend the ground breaking. We loved being able to meet her students, and see what a difference the opportunities that are offered at Workshop Houston are making in the lives of these children.
